Please pray:
-for strength and wisdom as I start a new school year
-for WNS to financially, spiritually, and academically grow
-students' salvations
-new staff to settle in easily
-for me to expand my prayer life
Praise:
-for a relaxing summer vacation with my family and friends
-renewed purposes while starting a new year
September 11
Please pray:
-for me to find good fellowship and implemented well
-for the drought in northern Kenya and the horn of Africa
-better security measures at WNS
-school spirit and pride to be increased
Praise:
-wonderful staff retreat
-I joined the choir at church! and I'm singing more!
-over half of middle and high school students have joined the discipleship program!
-amazing response to a chapel service including a few saved!
August 13
Please pray:
-everything listed under July 23 : )
-all new changes at WNS is be accepted and implemented well
-for me to find good fellowship and accountability
-for the drought in northern Kenya and the horn of Africa
Praise:
-a great start to the school year!
-awesome new staff
-fast enough internet to skype my family
-cool weather plus some rain
July 23
Please pray:
-The school year starts August 9th with several new teachers and a new principal and director. Please pray for these individuals as they get adjusted to Kenya and West Nairobi School.
-That the WNS staff will be united, show the love of Christ, work well together, and experience true community.
-For our community development program to grow so that our students may help reach more people with the love of Christ.
-For our discipleship program to see many new faces join and many students make commitments to follow Christ at a deeper level.
-Students and families to get saved.
-That West Nairobi School will be a light for Christ in Nairobi.
-That I will follow God's leading as I deal with students, colleagues, friends, and just everyone so that others will see Christ in me.
-That I can have effective ministry outside of school as well.
January 15
-praise: I have a wonderful Christmas vacation back home with all my family, friends, and church!
-praise: I made it through my first semester teaching and have successfully started the second
-WNS has hired a new director and principal for next school year! a huge blessing!
-request: continue to pray for the rest of the hiring process for next school year
-request: pray for one of our teachers and her husband as they leave our school this week to follow God to Central Asia
-request: pray for my discipleship girls and I as we continue to grow closer to God together
December 8
-prasie: we had successful middle school lock-ins!
-praise/request: we are almost through the first semester! so much work and stress floating around
-pray that sickness will leave! we have a lot of that floating around too
November 13
-praise: we got a 2nd grade teacher! One of specials teachers is taking over 2nd grade, it's easier to find specials teachers
-praise: middle school activites are going well so far
-pray that the activities will really make a difference in the lives of the students and that they will grow closer to God!
-contracts will be signed quite soon for most of our staff, pray for them as they make those decisions, and pray for the openings we will have next year
-this is quite a busy time of year, pray for me not to get stressed!
October 13
-second grade position will be open starting January, we need a replacement!
-discipleship program

-praise: I get to go home for Christmas!!!

-praise: the Spiritual Emphasis Week went well! quite a success! no definite proof, but lots of seeds planted and good conversations
-praise: we now have 2 beautiful babies added to our WNS family!
-praise: I had a bit of a cold last week, but I'm all better!
September 18
-praise: the discipleship program has started up at school, so far so good!
-praise: I have established the middle school student council with a wonderful group of students!
-everyone here is getting a bit sick, including myself
-*spiritual emphasis week is this week! pray for a successful time of teaching and growing
-praise: a teacher couple here just had thier baby!
-another couple is about to have their's
-my roommate's grandfather is having some health problems
September 1
-praise: I'm finally able to get lesson plans done in advance!
-still really busy, with lots of work
-beginning of discipleship program...it's going to be great!
-my grandmother whose health is not very well
August 21
-I'm already quite exhausted, so please pray that I can get ahead in my work.
-Pray for the start up of a new discipleship program for middle school and high school students.
-pray for those student who are not saved to recognize their need. Pray for those who are to grow in their faith.
-Pray that I will show the joy of our Lord on my face, in my actions, and by my words everyday.
August 14
-Praise: I finished my first week of school! I love these kids and I think they even might like me alright! : )

-praise that I was ready for my first day of school and it was a success!
-huge praise for a peaceful referendum here in Nairobi! We could have had huge problems, but God was good!
-my university, Liberty University, is mourning the loss of a dear education professor and her 16 year old son to a car crash. Please pray for this family, the husband and son left behind, and the LU/Thomas Road Baptist Church family.
